Volunteering at the Edge

We welcome confident and engaging individuals who love supporting community, art and music.

We recruit volunteers on an ongoing basis for our art openings and shows. Volunteer once per month or every week – it is up to you. Our volunteers receive free admission to events and a special annual volunteers-only annual reception.

Positions available on an ongoing basis:

Event Crews

On a rotating and ongoing basis we are seeking volunteers to assist with smooth event management for shows and art openings. Duties include: safekeeping ambassador; box office or door attendant; concession and sales; set up, tear down and clean up.

Required Skills: We’re looking for friendly, compassionate, confident and engaging individuals who love supporting community, art and music! Volunteers must be mature, responsible, and able to communicate with the public and their team.

Skills gained: Working with the public, working in a gallery setting, networking with emerging artists, communication and teamwork skills. This is an ideal position for those who want to learn more about running events, working in non-profit and/or the arts.

Time Commitment: Ongoing, flexible, 4 hours per event.

Sound Technician

For our concerts and open mic series. Duties would include set up of PA, sound checking performers, sound engineering and tear down.

Required Skills: Must have some experience with live stage and sound production; able to communicate with artists and event management team; friendly and patient.

Skills gained: Working with the public, working in a gallery setting, networking with emerging artists, communication and teamwork skills. This is an ideal position for those who want to learn more about running events, working in non-profit and/or the arts and polishing their live stage and sound production skills.

Time Commitment: Ongoing, flexible, 5 hours per event.

Gallery Assistant

To work with Director and at times, independently at the gallery to: field phone calls and public walk-in inquiries, oversee the virtual gallery display, facilitate a friendly and welcoming environment, provide information about the artists and gallery, light cleaning duties, painting walls after a show comes down. Artistic volunteers are encouraged to work on their own artwork during this time once outlined tasks are completed.

Required Skills: Looking for welcoming and compassionate individuals who are interested in non profit arts and culture. Volunteers must have a positive attitude and eagerness to share great energy with community.

Skills Gained: working within an art gallery setting; communication skills; working with the public, networking with emerging artists.

Time Commitment: ongoing, flexible Wednesday-Saturday 12-5pm (minimum of 2.5 hours per 5 hour shift)
